Local Community Representatives
Local Community Representatives are our field representatives who support and keep the communication flowing between the Host Families, Au Pairs, and Au Pair Foundation Headquarters. The Department of State requires that a Local Community Representative be within 1 hour of a Host Family and Au Pair match.
Prior to an Au Pair’s arrival, Local Community Representatives screen, interview and orient new and renewing Host Families. During the program year, the Local Community Representative supports the Host Family and Au Pair with information, advice and mediation throughout the program year. Monthly contact by the Local Community Representative ensures that questions are being answered and issues are being dealt with in a timely fashion. The Local Community Representative also assists with program updates, and renewal and extension documentation. Representatives must be 23 years or older.
