Au Pair Child Care Programs

Families have many different needs so one size does not fit all when hosting an au pair. We take pride in our network of au pairs, our overall au pair care, and matching host families in the United States with the correct child care program. In effect, Au Pair Foundation offers 3 Au Pair programs: Infant Care, Standard and EduCare.

Infant Care Au Pair Service

Description:

An Infant Care Au Pair program provides up to 45 hours of experienced childcare per week for infants and children between 3 months and 2 years of age. Based on our au pair requirements, an Infant Care Au Pair has at least 200 hours of documented childcare experience with children under the age 2.

Educational Component:

An Infant Care Au Pair studies at least 6 semester units at an accredited, post-secondary institution. The Host Family contributes up to $500 toward the Au Pair’s educational expenses.

Weekly stipend: $195.75


Standard Au Pair Service

Description:

A Standard Au Pair provides up to 45 hours of experienced childcare per week for children over the age of 2 years. A Standard Au Pair has at least 200 hours of documented childcare experience with children over the age 2.

Educational Component:

A Standard Au Pair studies at least 6 semester units at an accredited, post-secondary institution. The Host Family contributes up to $500 toward the Au Pair’s educational expenses.

Weekly stipend: $195.75


Educare Au Pair Service

Description:

A EduCare Au Pair provides up to 30 hours of experienced childcare per week for Host Families who have full-day school-aged children. Our EduCare au pairs have at least 200 hours of documented childcare experience with school-aged children.

Educational Component:

An EduCare Au Pair studies at least 12 semester units at a, accredited, post-secondary institution. The Host Family contributes up to $1000 toward the Au Pair’s educational expenses.

Weekly stipend: $146.81

Our Au Pair screening process includes:

  • Complete Criminal Background Investigation
  • Submission of at least two childcare employment references from non-family members
  • For Standard Au Pairs, proof of at least 200 hours of childcare experience
  • For Infant Care Au Pairs, proof of at least 200 hours of infant care experience
  • Submission of at least one-character reference
  • Medical Evaluation
  • English Testing which includes evaluation of speaking, writing and reading comprehension
  • Psychometric Screening
  • Proof of age between 18-26 years of age
  • Proof of Completion of High School
  • Pledge against smoking – Au Pair Foundation does not accept Au Pairs who smoke
