Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
My name is Xiaoming Chen 22 years old, a girl form an old city – Luoyang in Henan Province, China. My hometown is a very beautiful city and it’s an ancient city of 9 dynasties. I am a tour guide for several years, so whenever you have a trip to China, I would like to show you around. I live in a warm family with five people: my parents, a little brother, an elder sister, and me; there are also a dog and a kitty in my home. They all support my decision to be au pair and I appreciate them much. I love life and love enjoying life, so I have a lot of hobbies such as traveling, listening to music, reading, and sports. I have got English guide certificate license and lead many tour groups to half of China to experience many things and get rich knowledge. I learn how to get along well with different people, I arrange all the things for tourists, including accommodation and meal and so on. This make me mature early. I am interested in and love playing many kinds of sports such as running, the long and high jump, climbing mountain, the marathon race, playing basketball, football, volleyball, shuttlecock, skipping rope and jogging. From elementary school to university, I joined in many sports meeting. Although I haven’t got many awards, participant is important. In summer holidays in 2007, I opened a training course in my home town. About 60 students, most of them are primary and middle school students, we were getting along with each other very well. In the morning I lead them to do some sports firstly, then we begin our class, I encourage them to take apart in English topic, not only read and write, but keep talking, and sometimes we play English dramatic performance, I will give them some regards who have done a good job. There were ring the break, I let them do eyes exercise, All the students were very happy, because we not only study, but also we played very happy. When the training course ended, our farewell was a long one. They all ask me when I open the training course, they must come again. At that time, I was deeply moved, and very proud. If they don’t love me, how did they ask me that question? I enjoy playing games and communicating with children because they are kind-mind, simple, loving and have rich minds. I like to go to my neighbor’s home to take care of their children. Most of the children love studying new things and playing new games, if you join them as a member; it is very easy to become a friend of them. When I join your family, I will treat your children as my younger sisters and brothers to help and look after them. At the beginning, they might not get used to me, but I am a patient girl and I am confident to be a friend of you children by my effort. In university, I worked as a baby-sitter and cleaner. I also picked up junk and washing plates. For the part-time job and studying, I had less time to play games. My parents often told me that you can get everything if you were not lazy. I never forget this word because this faith makes me become a happy optimistic and simply girl who is responsible, enthusiastic, active, and diligent. Because of these different experiences, my parents feel relieved in me. Whatever I do, my friends trust me and my teacher are very confident of me. During summer vacation in 2008, I was honorable Olympic Volunteers as a university student delegates. I service on the 4 th floor for VIP, CEO, and the Heads of States. Such as Bush, and Bill Gates, Everyday I must stand all the time for more than 15 hours with smile, it challenged my energy and stamina greatly, sometimes I really felt very tired, but when I saw the athletes were struggling on the playground, I must learn from them and go on. Though this experience, I get to know how to insists and never give up in any instance. I will never forget this experience of only one time in my life. I think it’s necessary to learn driving, because it is a basic skill in daily life. After many days and nights practicing driving, I get my driving license in April 3 rd 2009. Although I am a new driver, I am careful and I am working hard to keep practicing. There is a dog and kitty in my family, they are so lovely that I can’t help to love them. If your family has pets too, I would like to help you look after them. I am confident to be a good friend with them. If you don’t mind, I will give your pets Chinese names. I love English and western culture, when I saw the interpreter, I envy them very much. So I choose major – Tourism English. Want to know more west culture and customs and can talk to them freely. I believe this will be a unique experience in my life and I can make a lot of friends in America which will be a great asset to my life. When I come back, I will miss your family and my American friends and I will keep in touch with you forever. I want to go on my study in University. If you are interested in me, please contact me. My father is building worker and my mother housewife. My sister, Patricia is 21 years old and she has just to finish her studies to become a really good chef. I’m a really active person, open mind very responsible and outgoing, that love travel, spend her time with her friend and I love the beach. I have been living out of my home long time. First during my career, and in a foreing country for 9 month, in Poland thanks from the University. I have been living too in Lauden and Maltz for 1 month, doing an English course. And the last experience in San Diego (USA) for 3 month this year, doing an English course too. That was one of the main reason because I have decided to enroll in this wonderful program, because I’d like to come back again, and to have the opportunity to spend more time there, thus I could learn and improve my English skills, and to learn about the American culture, at the same time that I’m doing something that I love to be with children. I have experience taking care of children as babysitter, and was a great experience, and a great job. I took care of children of different ages, but all of them were really lovelys with me. My tasks were to take care of them, playing with and involving them in age appropriate activities, as art craft, book, do puzzles, play roles, etc. preparing food, dealing with tantrums, feeding with a spoon/fork, putting them to bed, changing diaper, etc. My main experience is with children between 2-9 years old, but I took care of babies too, but with help. I took care of him with supervision of the grandmother, to help her with him. I love a lot that job, and I learnt about preparing babies food, change diaper, and in general to take care of babies, although I had help. I think that program is a really good opportunity for me, because my future plan after that is to become an English teacher children, and I think I could improve my children skills, and of course improve my English skills too. I believe that I could become a great au pair. I am flexible and I have experience living out of my home, and in a foreing country and is something that I loved. I know that it will be one of the greatest experiences of my life. I really looking forward to meeting your children and sharing many adventures!
Best regards,
Paola

They had a big family and lived in a big house in ancient countryside in Ayutthaya and my cousins also stayed with us. When I was 8 years old I moved to live with mother and I have 2 nephews in Bangkok. I had to take care of the 2 children when my sister went out to work. We were never lonely I had good times living with them. When I was 7 years old, I started to live by myself in a boarding school without my parents. I helped myself and studied hard that one day I would help my family to raise them up in poventy. Eventhough I was living by myself in Nonthaburi, Ihad a chance to see my parents during weekends but It was kind of rare because of the distance, Bangkok to Nonthaburi. My parents taught me how to be strong, kind cheerful, self veliant, humble and honest. They said by having these qualities, I could survive and live with people accordingly. When I was in high school I continued to study in Nonthaburi. I stayed in my school because it was a boarding school. In school, we had to look after younger children. I got-up at 5 O’clock in the morning every day, I took care of children befor going to school which includes taking shower, getting dress, preparing school bag. After shool I had to clean up the hostel or to teach the children to do their homework. On holiday assigned me and my friends to teacr the children at the Protectory about Basic English for ages 7-9 years old. We made picture of animals and they also acted, then taught how to call then in Einglish. Our fun activities for children included staging plays, dancing, playing games, singing, art, making cartoons induding knowledge of English and how to use it. When I was in higher vocational school in Bangkok I majored in account. I live with my mother and older sister. My older sister had 2 children. They were just 8 years and 10 years during that time. After school I had to help my older sister look after her children daily. I fed them, inade them asleep, played and taught them with their homework. When I graduated from higher vocational, I studies in Bansimdej Chaopraya Rajabhat University, for 2 years. My older sister had 1 childr. I had to help her look after her child. On weekend I took care of her child all day. One year later, she had another. I took care of her children everyday again. I love them because the children need to be taken care of all the time. Which means that my help and love were very important for them. I would like to participate in Au pair program because I need the opportunity to learn about American ways of life and to be with lots of children of all ages. I’m happy and love to stay and take care of them. I love kids! I am a gentle lady with a good temper especially with kids. I am sure that I can gat along well with any of them.

My name is Alma Mendoza Duran, but, since I were child my family call me “Almita,” and I like so much, I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and actually live there, I’m 22 years old, I study financial administration and I like it very much, I have been employed at several things relating to my career, but I enjoy too much spend time with the children, I like talk and play with them, In many times I had to take care the children of my friends in order that they could go to the school or they activities, sometimes we played with watercolors and crayons, something I used to play as the teacher and they as my little students, that was very fun, also. I took care of my sister when she was a baby. That was a long time ago that I help my mom do that, but I enjoyed so much, right now she is 10 years old. I’ve a little sister and my mom assigned me many tasks like take care of her when she was sick. Actually my little sister is a bigger girl but we still care of her, her name is Jenny. I have another younger sister, her name is Lety, she actually ahs 17 years old and she study in high school, I’m the oldest sister, and we are only my dad, mom and us at home. I think I am a very open mind person, I like meet new people, talk with them and know how they think, I also believe that language is very important for communication, and I like to improve my English, those reasons and take care of the children are the motives because I want to be an Au Pair. Furthermore I’d really like to live in another country and learn how to live away from home; I know it will not be difficult for me, because I like being independent person. One of my hobbies that I most practices, is to do exercise, all my life I’ve always tried to stay healthy, when I was a child my parents took me to swimming and gymnastics lessons, (discipline that I love), now I run and do Pilates and I enjoy it much. Go to the movies and reading is another thing that I like; regularly my sisters and I took our dog Tobbie to walk in the park, lastly, I need to say that watching cartoons is something I really love to do, in the morning I dedicate some time to watch my favorite cartoons. In short, this profile speaks a little of me, and I expect to be an Au Pair that you need and share with you this year, I hope to be part of your family and fill your expectations.
Alma Mendoza

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
It's from France that I am writing to you this letter so that you can share a part of my life! To start with my name is Gwladys, I am 19 and I live in Rouen in Normandy, it's a town close to Paris. Family for me is essential, the links that I have with my parents and my sister are very strongs. So, I am going to talk about my family: my dad Laurent, is 47 is a policeman and my mom Manuela is 45 years she works for old people. I have 2 younger sisters, Audrey, she's 16 and she's going to High School, and Emma she's 10. Since I am 15 I work regularly with children and the more the time goes on, the more I take pleasure in it! Since I'm 16, I take care of Thilbaut every wednesday and saturday afternoon and his little sister Clara. They are 3 and 5 years old now but I know them since their birth so I consider them as my family. We play a lot of activities together like painting, cooking, drawings, watching cartoons, and when the weather is sunny we are going to the swimming pool or at the park to play in the playground. For two years, I take care of Nathan, he just turned 3. I take care of him mostly the weekend. He loves Nature and walking so most of the time we are going to the park, but he's also very creative and loves painting. I usually take care of Paul and Mathilde (7 and 9), they are older than the others but it's a lot of fun because talk and share lots of secrets together. I sincerely think I am enough responsible, dynamic and cheerful to take care of children and make them appreciate me. For me, they are important; I enjoy spending time with them because I think they are the very proof of sincerity. Moreover I have the luck to have two young sisters and a lot of cousins so I know how to take care of children. About my personality, I think that I'm open-minded on people and life in general. I love learning, enriching me, travelling, I just love life! I practiced gymnastics for 4 years and dancing (modern jazz) during 2 but I had to stop because of my studies. I also love sports in general like basket-ball, football... Moreover, I enjoy to spend time with my friends (going to the cinema, to the restaurant...), I love readind (my favorite writer is Guillaume Musso), meeting people of different nationalities. I have to tell you that this departure to the U.S.A is the challenge of my life.
Just the idea of you reading me, I'm so excited and I can't wait meeting you!
Best regards, See you soon!
Gwladys

At this time, I am waiting for the letter from host family. I pay attention to this au pair program very much. It is my ambition that one day I can go to American and also study there. I known this program from my friends who studied in America. They told me that if I would like to go to America, I should apply to this program. It will give me experience. Moreover, as my characteristic which I really like children and I am friendly. I decide to apply this program and prepare myself about 1 year. Therefore, I am quite sure that I can definitely take care children. I would like to have a chance to share Thai culture and tradition with host family and also learn how American culture and tradition is. I have ever heard some from my friends, books, television and internet. However, I think learn by experience is more better. I try hard to study in English but I still have not a good skill. The reason that maybe I do not have a chance to use it. I like English and I am ready to learn it including other languages. I love children. When we stay together, I am happy. We do many activities together. I also teach them to take care themselves. I ever babysit children at nursery. It is quite small nursery. There are about 10 children age 6 months to 3 years. This give me more experience. We can be a good adolescent by babysitting, practicing when we were young or it can called giving a good conscious. I gain many benefits from it. I understand what children thinking about. I can help them do their activities such as taking a bath, dressing, preparing their meal. I feel like I am their mother. I al most finished practicing to babysit. However, I go there to look after children after I finished my work because nursery located near mo condo and I miss them so much. I hope I can help you to take care of your children. if I have a chance to be a part of your family as an au pair, I will do my best. I hope I will receive a good news form host family. | Letter to Host Family |
Dear Host Family,
I think, it’s in my nature – love to children. Since my childhood I’ve been taking care of them, because I have my younger sister. It was always interesting to take part in her up-bringing, to look after her. Maybe that’s why after finishing school I entered the Teachers’ Training College. I graduated from it with success and began working at school. So, again I treated children, took care of them. Each summer holidays I spent in children’s camps enjoying my time. It’s always interesting to play with children, to listen to them, to take care of them! One day my friend asked me to become a baby-sitter for her daughter as she needed to work and had no enough time for looking after the girl. So, I got the experience of baby-sitting with Alisa. She is a really wonderful girl! I was so happy to be a part of their family! My second experience was also successful. I was taking care of a small boy – Lev. My neighbor asked me as she knew about my education, experience and interests. When I heard about Au Pair Foundation I understood that it’s a great opportunity to develop my skills in taking care of children and especially it’s interesting to participate in Cultural Exchange, to see new traditions, way of living. As for my future, I’m going to connect my life with children; I’ll continue my work at school where I feel myself at the right place!

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My given name is Lertkanlaya Sa-Kha and known well as “Aum” I am from Thailand, mature and reliable, currently living in Bangkok. I grew up in a warm family with my parents and grandfather. At the moment I am living with parents in our lovely house, have 4 peoples including me which is a small family. My dad’s working for a part of government and mother’s a housewife. I have been helping them all the housework and taking care of all duties from an early age such as cooking, clean up, ironing, mopping etc and also the other things required around the house. I graduated from Dhurakij Pundit Univeristy where I majored in communication arts (radio and television). After I graduated I got a job at Exact Co. Ltd I was television writer helping to create a variety show on Thai TV. I realize that this is very different from au pair work but I am always looking for new experiences. I’m a simple girl who has never left Thailand and while I love it here in my home country I would love to see more of the world and learn about different races and cultures. Of all the places in the world America is the place I would most like to live in and learn about, one of the big bonuses of living there would be the chance to practice and improve my English skills. What better way to achieve all these things than to live and work with an American family? Another reason why I want to move into au pair work is that I love children and I am never happier than when spending time with them. I take care of my nephew every day while my cousin is at work and that has given me good first hand experience of child care. I realize that my previous qualifications are not related to this line of work so I have done a training course at Ramkhamhaeng University Demonstration school (Elementary Level) and Kluaynamthai Hospital in general child care, nutrition for children, art activies, first aid and cpr. I am sure that I would be a first class addition to your family and look forward to hearing from you soon about my application.
Yours faithfully
Lertkanlaya Sa-Kha

Dear Host Family,
My name is Carmen Mariella Calle Ordinola, I prefer you call me Mariella because my twin sister is Carmen too. I live with my mom, my step dad and my sister. I have two sisters, my twin sister’s name is Maricelly and my older sister’s name is Isabel, she is 25 years old and lives in Virginia with her husband, an American citizen. I am very responsible, mature, reliable and out going. I like listening to music, going to the movies, dancing and shopping. Summer time is my favourite time of the year because I love going to the beach. I live in Piura, a median city in the north coast of Peru, here the temperature is between 59°F and 100°F and rains in the summer. I am 19 years old and I have been studying English Language as career at the university because I wanted to be translator, but when I thought to apply as an Au Pair I started to work with children, I did not know that children are beautiful, lovely and they need love and patient. They are so cute that I have decided to be a kinder garden teacher to work even with special needs children. I would like to be an Au Pair because it is an opportunity to share my time with children who will be part of my temporary family; I have not had small brothers. On the other hand I would like to live an experience in USA improving my English and knowing a different culture. I adore playing, painting and drawing with children. They give us a lot of love and looks so inoffensive that I feel they need emotional support. I would like to teach them some of Spanish and dance typical and tropical music as my Peruvian customs. I have studied English at the university but my English teachers have emphasised in grammar, for that I need to practice talking with American people to improve my pronunciation. Actually English is a need and Au Pair Program is an opportunity to get it. I have had to learn to drive the mom’s care although it is automatic, she loves her old mechanical Volkswagen but only she drives her VW. I admire my mom because she has taught me values like responsibility, honesty and respect and I sincerely want to get a host family with values and feel that I am a member of your family. Also I am able to learn about the American customes and the same time I would love to share with you the Peruvian Culture.
Look forward to hear from you
Sincerely yours,
Mariella Calle

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
Hello, my name is Tidarat Pikuntong, but you can call me “Ning.” I am 25 years old. I graduated from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. My major is Agricultural Business Administration. My hobbies are listening to the radio, reading, planting, cleaning my dogs. I am friendly, fun and polite sometime I am talkative. My family has 5 people (father, mother, older sister, younger brother and me). Now I live with my aunt and uncle. My uncle is retired and my aunt is a manager of chicken and pig magazine. Every month I usually go out side for dinner with my family. Sometimes we cook, plant, clean my house, travel and so on together. I got a driving license about 3 years ago. I drive a car everyday in the village and city. I have experiences with children at Sethaputra Kindergarter School, Santisuk nursery and aunt’s friend home. At Sethaputra Kindergarter School, I took care of children between 2-5 years old. Every day I have many activities with them. Each day at 8 o’clock I taught the children to respect and sing our national song, pray and exercise. After that I took them to the toilet before studying. I helped a teacher to teach the children about Thai and English letters, drawing, painting, colors and places. Then I read folktales and Aesop’s Fables. I tried to teach them everything is useful for development their skill, knowledge and relationship with someone else. For example – how to share toys, games and snacks. I fed them at 11 am, helped them take a bath, then take a nap. Every Friday I take them to swimming pool. I have to take care one girl much more than other children because she had dermatitis. She had a skin problem, I had to clean and put some medicine lotion on her skin. I always be careful about food, milk, lotion, soup, etc. that could be an effect to her. She is a very smart girl. At Santisuk Nursery I took care of children between 1-2 years old. every day I fed, mixed milk, read English tales, played games, gave a bath, taught to know animals, color and had them take a nap. Activities at the nursery were too same as at kindergarter school but at nursery I must do much more, I had to dress and feed the babies. At kindergarter school I just taught children to get dressed and eat by themselves. Also, for 1 month I lived with my aunt’s friend and took care of her dauther. She is 2 years old. She was often sick. I have to give her medicine every 4 hours. If she didn’t desire to take medicine, I must do some trick such as medicine is yellow I assumed it is apple juice, medicine is red I assumed it is straberry juice etc. I put vegetables in her food to practice her to eat vegetables. I did all activities to her similar to the nursery. During this time I am so happy when I live together and do activities with children. I have reasons to participate in the aupair program. I used to join with work and travel in the U.S.A. about 4 months. It was wonderful experience for me. I know a little about American life. so I would like to get more experiences. I would like to practice English, learn American culture and social customs and have a great experience. After I finish aupair program I would like to come back to Thailand to open my own nursery or teach English at school. These are my dreams. Thanks so much for reading my letter. I hope you contact me.
Sincerely yours,
Ning

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
I’m a Chinese girl, and my name is Guo Lizhu. I’m very sunny and love doing sports with my friends. I think my extroversion character connects with my experiences closely. I was born in Heilongjiang Province, but grown up in Liaoning Province because I lived with my grandpa and grandma there since I was 3 years old. My father is a driver, and my mother is a doctor. When I was a baby they were both too busy with their career, so I was sent to my grandma. I’m the only child of my parents, but in my grandma’s home I have a sister and a brother, they are my uncle’s and aunt’s children. My school days were all spent in Liaoning Province. I have been going to primary school, junior high school, and high school in Jinzhou City where my grandma lives there. Now I’m a student in Dalian Polytechnic University, and my major is English. I’m rich in taking care of children because I have so many relatives, and they had babies one after another. I also was been baby-sitter and tutor during my vocations. I like children very much, so I always look after their children when they are busy. Children are always lively and curious in everything they find. At this age we could teach them a lot, and they will remember what we thought deeply inside, so childhood is an important time. For a baby or a child, safety is a basic problem. They are too young to protect themselves, so they need one by their side to watch them. So, if both of the parents are too busy to look after their children, an aupair is in need. As I have taken care of a lot of children and babies, I’m familiar with the problem they may fall across, and I could solve the problem perfectly. I think I can be a good aupair. Actually speaking, I knew about aupair just in this year. But I was attracted by it the first time I heard of it. As an English major I want to improve my English in every field, and I’m very interest in the culture of other countries. Aupair must be the best way to achieve my wish. Since I have the ability of looking after children, and the family could offer me a platform for me to see the culture and daily life in other country, I’d love to be an aupair. To be an aupair could not only satisfy me on my interest, but also could give me a lot help in my future work life. Welcome to contact, if you are interested in me. I hope I can help your family a lot if I can be your au pair. Say Hello to your cute children!
Best regards
Yours,
Lizhu

Using computer and searching things from the internet are also my favorite activities and it is the best and easiest way of communicating with each others. Childcare Experiences, I have trained at Bangkok Nanny Center from Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok for 300 hours. I trained about theory for 100 hours and practice in the real situations in family. My responsibilities are taking temperature for sick children by thermometer, cleaning infants, preparing bottles, testing milk, changing diaper, playing with children, putting children to bed, preparing to bed, preparing food for them. Besides I have observed children development since the first of my training. For instant, walking, drawing, trying to speak, etc. I also learned how to deal with they cry. I was taught by nurses and babysitters how to take a good care of them. Understanding what they want is also important thing for being a babysitter. The attitude of America, I am interested in living in America. I would like to see how America is, the way they live, the way they communicate with each others, or even the way they eat. I also enjoy traveling to other countries and seeing the world. The most important thing is, living in America is the best way to practice and improve my English skills. I think American people are nice and easy to go with. Moreover, I am willing to adapt myself and my lifestyle to the American Environment. Future goals, I hope and expect to improve my English skills by being an Au-pair in the Stated for a year or more and I am sure that my English will be much better. On the same hand, I would like to be a flight attendant so I have to practice more English for my career. And I also would like to keeping on my study in the Master Degree in an English field in the future. Hopefully that my personal data and my qualification mentioned above would match you interest or your desire. It would be glad if I could be a part of your family. Please kindly consider me as an Au-pair of your family. Thank you for reading my profile. I am looking forward to be a part of your family.
Sincerely Yours,
Jiraporn Martklang

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
My name is Evelyn Navarrete. I am 23 years old. I live in Quito – Ecuador. I’m studying Business Management at the “Universidad Salesiana”. I’m a very responsible person, I value what I have and aspire to have a good future. This is why I spend my time studying and getting good grades. I’m in 7 th semester and I’ll be done with my career in only 2 semesters. For my career it’s very important to speak another language. Since I was a child I was interested in learning English, and now I value specially its importance. I traveled with my mother to Spain to study. In my free time I liked to take care of children. I loved to be with them and share nice moments. The first time my mother went abroad I had to stay in Ecuador taking care of my little sister and form that moment emerged from me a big love to children and I know that it is very hard. I like to take care for them, attend to them, to dress them, to brush them and devote to their activities. This helped me a lot, because when I went to Spain I was able to look after some children during my free time. Sometimes I used to teach them to prepare desserts, to make handicrafts, to swim. We used to play, to dance and I used to help them doing their homework and studying. I was glad to do that and for me it didn’t represent exactly a job. Generally I’m studying and doing homework and in my free time I like to read, visit new places, go shopping or rest. I really like to know about other cultures and to learn other languages. Also, for my career its so important to speak English, that’s why I decided to participate in the au-pair program. I hope to find a kind family, that let’s me get in its home, to whom I will respect, value and share its culture and customs. I’d like to show you the best of me and help you with your children. You can feel calm and secure. I’ll give my best to look after your children. During the time I’m there I’ll learn about your culture and my objective will be learning English as well. At the end of that time I’d hope I have the best of the experiences and I’ll come back very happy to finish my career and hare with my family and friends the experiences I had and of course I’ll be sad to leave the friends I’ll get there. Well, I hope you’ve known me a little. Thanks a lot for the attention you paid to my letter and I’ll be expecting an answer back from you.
Lovely yours,
Evelyn

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
It’s my great pleasure to introduce myself. My name is Yi Zhou from China and you can call me Emily. I am 20 years old this year. Zhejiang, Wenzhou city is my home town. Wenzhou is a city which grows from a small town to a big economic city. There are many Wenzhounees doing business worldwide. And they are knows as the Eastern Utah, which means they are brilliant merchants. Now I am living with my family in Shenzhen city, a beautiful and green city in southern of China. Whenever you have a trip plan to China, it would be my pleasure to show you around. I went to college in September 2007 and my major is business English, but unfortunately, I have to end my college life because of the closedown of the school. After that, I find a job as a clerk in a company and work until now. I did a lot of part-time jobs in my college, such as the leader of performance activities, seller, coffee shop attendants, handing out leaflets and telephone operator and tour guide. Every job brought me harvest and I benefited a lot. Particularly, they let me know how to get along with others. Well, now I like to share you my loving family. There are five people in my family: my father, my mother, my younger sister, my younger brother and me. My mothers passed away for cancer when I was 16. Later then, my father was responsible for the daily life of all children in our family. Life is hard for him because he both acts the role of mother and father. As the eldest child in my family, I do everything I can to help him, like taking care of the daily life of my younger brother and sister. This experience makes me into quite an independent and mature person. All of my families are Christians; we go to church every Sunday. Au pair project is recommended by my father. He thinks that his daughter should improve herself, broaden her view of the world, and learn different culture of different countries. As a result, he is glad to see that I have a chance to live and learn in USA. My father is a merchant. He often goes out for business, occasionally, he would take me with him to look around cities outside. He found Xi’an is a city with strong culture atmosphere, thereby, he sent me to study in Xi’an when I was 5 year old to 13 years old. During these 8 years, I went back to my hometown and enjoyed a lot with my family in summer and winter vacation. I helped my younger brother and sister in their courses and played with them, of course, I also told them interesting things happened in my school. I treasured a lot the time when I being with my family together. I like sports and outdoor activities, swimming, walking basketball, tennis and bicycle are all my hobbies. When I was nine years old, my father let my brother and sister and I learn swimming in my hometown. Then he would swim with us and often organize matches between us. Every summer we swim together and we have fun. Now I am a strong swimmer, if your children and you like to swim, I am very happy to join you and I have confidence that I can ensure their safety. My father said that calligraphy can stand for the figure of one person. So he let us study calligraphy. My calligraphy is the most beautiful among my younger sister and younger brother and I won many praise in school too. I know some simple knowledge about Chinese Taichi. If you were interested in it, I could show it to you. I am good at dancing too, when I was in college, I joined the school party and, and people were impressed by my dancing, you can also the scene in my photos. Besides, I have talents in music, I can play a little piano and Chinese instrument Guzheng, if you like, I would love to play for you. I have been a waitress in a coffee shop which was run by a Colombian. In the shop, I learnt how to simmer coffee, concoct every kind of coffee and how to make sandwiches and so on. it was fun. If you like, I would love to make the coffee and sandwiches for you. When I studied in Xi’an, I lived in the boarding school. During this period, every weekend I went to my father’s friend’s, his name is Mo Chen. There were many neighbor children aged from 3 years old to 13 years old there, so I looked after them during the weekends and played with them. One time, we went to the park to play games. There was someone who was taking photos. He took photos for us and surprisingly, our pictures were published on the newspapers next day. We finally knew that person was a reporter, he caught the happiest moment when the children were playing. When I am in the college, I did a part-time job-to take a group of 3-10 year old children to an amusement park. I was responsible for their whole day’s activities, like hand out the lunch for them, plan games for them, tell stories for them, hold singing competition for them, etc. This is a big challenge to me, because it required me a great deal of responsibility and patience. I understand that the children’s safety is the biggest responsibility for me and I always kept an eye on each of them. When it was time for them to go home, they always sang for me which made me very happy and moved and I can sense that they all loved to being with me which was the great motivation for me to complete this job well. I love children very much, because their innocent and lovely behaviors have brought lots of fun to me. I love to help you take care of the children not only as an aupair but also a friend to you, why I am a qualified childcare provider? You can get more details from my recommendation letters. I started practicing driving since April 2009. I felt very excited when I touched the steering wheel for the first time. Knowing how to control the steering wheel is one the most important driving skills. And I did it well. After couple months of practicing, I got my driving license in July, 2009. Now I usually use my friend’s car, I driver 5 times per week, around 7 hours and I often drive on city streets and busy roads. When go shopping or go to the beach with my friends, I am always the driver for them. I always drive carefully because I believe in “safe driving makes good driver”. If you like, I would like to drive as an au pair, it is convenient for me to do thing for you, like picking up the children, going to buy necessities, etc. But I need to get familiar with the local traffic condition first and I am happy that if you can offer me some kind of guidance. It would be my great pleasure to share some Chinese things with your family. I could teach you some basic standard Mandarin, tell your kids Chinese Fairy tales and cook some Chinese food for you. I chose to be an Aupair. First of all, going to the United States is a longing dream for me where my father has traveled to; he told me some differences between China and the United States and hoped I have the chance to experience more. Secondly, I want to learn the local customs and culture, and also would like to have a better understanding of American life. But the main objective is to learn English. I believe that this Aupair life will definitely enrich my life. Certainly, I would like to take care of your kids and do some housework. Although I guess that I may have some homesick at the beginning, I would like to take this challenge and believe that I shall get used to the Aupair life rapidly, especially under some kindly guide from your family. After the Aupair life, I want to hunt for a job in overseas-funded enterprises, or maybe I would be an English teacher to disseminate the American culture. I am looking forward to the long-term friendship between us. You are once my host family, but we could be the good friends for ever. Whenever you would like to visit Beijing, I would be your best local guide just as you have ever done for me.
I am looking forward to your letters.
Best wishes,
Yi Zhou (Emily)

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
My name is Hagar Duku, a 24 year old who have devoted all her life to children, volunteerism, Education and family. One word that describes me best is “jovial.” Every morning, I woke up and choose to live each moment to its fullest. I simply adore teaching, playing, traveling, nurturing, befriending and learning from all people especially children. I believe a healthy family environment is the most important aspect of child’s upbringing. Imagination and confidence are the key to a person’s success and these traits should be initiated and nurtured by one’s family. I was raised by a very open-minded family and a very supportive family whose fundamentals encourage freedom of expression, emphasis on respect. I was thought to follow my dreams but to do so responsibly, as I hope to pass on to your children. I am a family girl. They are my core support and inspiration. I find it necessary to involve myself in everything that sparks my interest i.e. theatre, dance, volunteering, lecture, books, etc. I am a very positive, productive, passionate, compassionate, creative and responsible individual, but ability to share my love for life is my favorite quality. I was raised in Kumasi, Ghana. Ever since I was 7 I have wanted to my profession to involve theatre but did it as a part time course when I was doing my Higher National Diploma (HND). Though I was able to do most courses in theatre, I think it is just part of it. Some of the nominated and awards I received during my part time in theatre course includes most creative, professional and dedicated actress. Many have been already stated that, these traits have been present in my undertakings. Although I had diploma in Purchasing and Supply, I did not use my certificated but rather opted to teach in a Crèche School and I did well. In the school we had class “A” and “B” and each had a minimum of 25 children. I teach them everything from poems, games, feeding them, change their diapers and many other activities. As a teacher, in the mornings we did workbooks and played academic games to their studies spark. In the afternoon, I feed them and had playtime. I intentionally planned activities which would boost their confidence and creativity. I enjoy working in this school and wish one day after enough experience will have my own daycare of crèche school as I love children. In 2007 I had the opportunity to do my national service with Ghana National Peace Community (GNPC) along side working in the school. We worked for almost 10 months on Community Service Projects across Ghana in the areas of Education, Environmental Reservation, Public Safety, Unmet Human needs and Disaster Relief. As I always love children, I want community service to forever be part of my life. In July last year, I received a month of GNPC training. Some of our classes included Ghana Red Cross, First Aid, Disaster Relief and Diversity Training. Each member of our team had a specific position and I was chosen as our media representative. Our first project was in Atonsu a suburb of Kumasi where air strike most important assets, we made it up to them and made sure we replace what they have lost. Next we returned to Accra children home and worked at the food bank and family services where Tutored children, distributed emergency baby supplies, supplied clothing, food for those in need and helped battered women heal through art. I will like a host family who conforms to my objectives that is, loving children to contact me. I will like to take advantage of the program to experience a new culture while also desire to serve as an integral part of a parenting team. I also want to improve my English language to the maximum. I know by part-taking in this Au Pair program in a more developed country like America will make me acquire more skills and methodologies that will enhanced my ability to establishing a babies home and crèche in the future.
Yours faithfully,
Hagar Duku

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
Hello, my name is Yu lian Mei, and Elian is my English name. Now I am 22 years old and will gain my Bachelor’s degree on Pharmacy this year. So excited as I am here to tell you something about my characteristic, my hobbies and interests, my future plan, and the motives why I want to be an Au Pair member. Talking about my characteristic, my families and my friends all consider me as easygoing, kind, hard-working, smart, considerate and so on. Certainly, I am absolutely confident to say that I seldom disappoint the people around me. At home I am an excellent child, helping housework without being asked. In my friend circle, I act as gentle, helpful and friendly as I can to get along with my friends. To be a good student, I never upset my teachers, and I always gained the scholarship in the end of the year. Meanwhile, I have various kinds of interests and hobbies. For instant, table tennis, running, reading cooking, teaching, playing with kids, trying to learn playing the Chinese ancient instrument etc. My roommate always said I am full of energy and never cease. To be honest, I am quite satisfied with my life and very happy to learn new things, experience different things m, make friend with various people. Time is limited to anyone of us, so I just do not want to waste any time and would like to make a good preparation to hold on every chance comes to me to improve my capabilities, to make myself much more perfect person. The above are part of the reasons why I want to participate the Au Pair program. Not only want to experience new life, different culture, learn more knowledge but also want to perfect my skill of child care. I definitely think I have high qualification sot be an Au Pair member, because when I was still a primary school student about 10 years old, I had tried to attend my cousin’s two children, playing with them, feeding them, even sometimes help to bathe them. During the 4 years campus life, I used to be a tutor for several students, whose ages were from 8 to 13. In this way, I am quite familiar about how to teach children and communicate with them. What impressed me most is the experience to be an tutor for nearly 20 students at one time. At first I did not know how to cope with so many students, but through several day’s observation and attempt I found a good method to make them behave better. In addition, in order to improve my English I had joined a Language-exchange program since Sep, 2008, to assistant a German teacher in the university to learn Mandarin. So it won’t be a problem for me to teach and communicate with your dear kids. Finally, when it comes to my future plan, I really have a good plan – run my own business, which associate with children education. To be an au pair abroad and to live together with foreign children native in English will be the most treasure I got in order to fulfill my goal. So, I can assure you that if I cam chosen to be an extended member of your family. I will try my 200% or more endeavor to look after your good kids.
Best wishes to you!
Yours sincerely
Yulian Mei

Although most families in China only have one child, I have been fortunate to grow up with a younger sister, which has been a big factor in my interest in child care. My relationship with her has always been very harmonious and friendly. When she was still a child, I took care of her when our parents were busy with their jobs. We played together; I cooked for her and counseled her to study. I am really thankful that I have such a lovely younger sister that gives me a chance to learn so many things. Now that I have introduced to you my family, let me also give you a little information about my professional and educational background. I graduated from Qingdao hotel Management College hotel management this year. My professional helps me to learn spoken English and a high standard of Putonghua. I can communicate with foreigners in English and the result of test of Putonghua (Mandarin) proficiency is very high. I taught them simple English words with cards or pictures. We played lots of games and also made handiworks together. And I can play violin for them. When I was young, I learnt violin for four years. Namaste! Please let me introduce myself. I am Nirjala Mukhiya from Lalitpur, Nepal. I am 21 years old. I have passed 10+2. I am student at this time also. I passed SLC from Gyan Bigyan School. I have a brother and a sister. They are younger to me. My father is a Contractor and mother a housewife. We live together in Lalitpur, Nepal. I am interested to be an au pair in the USA. I wish to look after your children very nicely. I know the techniques that are necessary to care children. I am interested in visiting, meeting new people and learning new things. I am easy going and open minded. I have got experience of looking after my own brother and sister and the neighbor’s children as well. I give focus on the fact that we must be serious in understanding the children’s feelings. Without understanding it, we can not care them. I am very serious about this fact. Children are very delicate and so is their mind, I think. So, whatever they learn, it will make a great impact on them for along time in the future. So, children should be taught and cared nicely. I can care children while they are eating, playing or staying at home. I can take them to school and pick them up from there. I am happy to take them to the parks or zoo whenever we have time. I will create a happy and excited time period during my stay at your home. I will do work according to your advice. I will surely make you fully satisfied and happy with me and my work. Dear Host family,
I am grateful for this opportunity to tell you about myself. My name is Solace Eno Ama Sarfo-Antwi. I come from Ghana and was born on 30 th November 1985. I am the older of two kids born to the sarfo-Antwi family. My brother- Samuel is preparing to go to High school. Daddy passed away in 1998 and my brother and I live with mummy- an educationist. We are a Christian family, worshipping at Baptist church in Accra. I am five feet tall, dark and have average weight. I enjoy watching tennis, basketball and swimming competitions. I love playing scrabble, chess, telling stories to children and working with people. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from the University of Ghana. During my studies I did a research and wrote a long essay on ‘Causes and Effects of single motherhood on the upbringing of children’. Back at school, my favorite subjects were human growth and development, and children’s rights. As a social worker, I have come to appreciate children and uphold their rights. I hope to specialize in School Social work during my master’s degree. I believe the rights of children must be protected especially through the love of care takers- they are a wonderful gift from God. I have experience in childcare. I took care of relatives and friends kids. Also, I had an eight-week voluntary service at our national orphanage (The Osu Children’s Home), where I taught children how to read and write, song and cared for them. As a Christian who sees the beauty of God in children, I love to bring them up as precious beings that need a chance to bring out their potentials and talents. At age 23 and having been through university education, I see myself as capable, mature, responsible, diligent, careful and reliable. Personally, I am morally sound, assertive, and adaptable.
I look forward to a sound relationship with my host family.
See you soon.

Dear Host Family,
I am Alice N-yellabong, an enthusiastic young lady who had had experience in child care (pre-sch and baby sitter) for the past 10 years. I am 24 years old and black African (Ghanaian). Am always willing to face new challenges, learn more about childcare and therefore, saw this programme as a plat-form of advancing in my carrier. My desire and passion for the course is driving me into the programme since it will allow me to show-case my talents in what I enjoy doing. I have the ability of using stories, songs and Rhymes in guiding children knowing their rights and wrongs which children love doing through play. As a pre-school teacher, I encourage children to read with the help of Jolly phonics training I undertook which enables children to read easily because is full of fun and very involving. I am participating in this programme so that I can learn the American way of child care, blend it with the Ghanaian way of childcare so as to get a better result and by so doing, I will become an icon in my carrier. If am given the nod, I would do my best in achieving alot about childcare so that I will serve as a role-model to the young and up coming ones to emulate in my community and in the country at large. After the Au pair programme, I will come back to Ghana to continue my chosen carrier.

Dear Family,
My name is Kristine Petrosyan I am 23 years-old from Armenia. I was born in Armenia, but for 6 years I lived in Russia where my mather was born, she is Russian. And now I live in Armenia with my mother she is 50 years-old, my brother he is 28 years-old, his wife and their precious kids, son 6 years-old and doughter 5 years-old. . Unfortunately, when I was just 16 years old I lost my dad. So my mom took care of us alone, she worked very hard for us. We all have a good relationship. If someone has a problem he can talk to everyone of our family. It’s a trust relation. They know that I am a serious person. They always know where I go and when I return at home. They approve my plan to go in the USA for one year. I am finished my High School in 2003 and got my High School Diploma. Then I entered to the University of Menegment of Erevan, I was study in language dipartment (English and French my English is good but French not so well I know a little, also I speak russian).I study there for two years I havent finished yet. I realize that kids are the most wonderful creatures in the world right after my brother has his first child. I started to babysit my nephew and niece at first than I have worked as a nanny for several years with the age of new born to 15. I think it is great to see kids growing up. On babysitting I brought them to bed, I played with them and I gone with them to the playground. I want never miss this experience kids. I enjoy playing, teaching and taking care of them. I really like doing babysitting. That means playing with kids, reading books to them, going to the playground and support them. It is always great to see them smiling when they learned something new. I am also very passionate about art and art work so I spend a lot of time with kids on art, scrapbooking, painting, and many more. I have organized a lot of child development games, taken them for long walks, hiking and sport activities. I think the key working with kids is to recognize them and their interests first, treat them with respect and teach them the right things. I love kids very much. And of course, the kids like me, too! I think I am a very responsible person who would never let the kids alone for example. I am more a cautiously person which handles everything with care. I love to spend time with kids and make them happy and every smile of a child makes me happy. I think that are good conditions for being an au pair. I don't think I will have a problem to leave my family behind and live with you for a year since I am really flexible and love to see and learn new things! Besides my hobbies are jogging, meeting friends, go swimming and listening music. reading, hiking, playing sports. I also enjoy photography and cooking I hear different music, my interests are different and my friends are different types so I think that I’m adaptable. In our household I’m cleaning up my room, the bathroom and sometimes the kitchen. I have to wash the dishes and sometimes to cook meals for my family. I really like baking. I think it will be great to learn something about a new culture and the history like the American. I want to become an au pair because then I will be a real part of an American family and can be integrated in every step of them. And because I like children. I am exited and would like to work as nanny in your family for three simple reasons; I like what I do, I would like to explore another country, culture an people and improve my English. I hope that I will receive the excellent things from this program and warm welcome from American people. I am sure that there is a lot to learn from you, and your children, and from your country. I believe that I will make contribution to your family life by bringing my own experience. I hope to find a family that really needs me as I will need them, my home will be that you offer me I am willing to give you my best and you can trust me as my family already trusts you. I know that is not easy to let get into your house a person that you have not seen your live, but I promise that I care your kids as you will. With love and patience. I would like to have a good relationship with you. That we be able to talk face to face, that your house rules been mine too, would like to be part of your family. I am sure that we will love each other and we will have a great friendship, which never ends, it does not matter distance or time.

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
I would like to use this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Sabita Sharma. I am 21 years old and I live in a Capital City of Nepal called Kathmandu. I live with my parents in our own house. I have five family members including my father, mother, one younger brother, one younger sister. We are very friendly, helpful, hard working and co-operative. We support each other to make correct decision and share happiness and sorrow together. I have completed my intermediate level and currently finished my Bachelor's examination in management. I am interested to learn new things to meet new people and want to know different culture. Actually am eldest daughter in my family and I have responsibility towards my family. So I think I should do the same job that matches my interest as well as my experience on the basis of my experience and interest. I have confident that a good au pair should possess. Talking about my experience as a play group teacher in Milestone Youth English School; there are different age group kids, and all are cute, lovely and so much funnier in their work. I have presented my self sometimes as their mother, sometimes friends and sometimes elder sister. I had to be with them the whole day, feed their food, changing diapers and all the necessary work to look after the kids. Although it was a tough job, I enjoyed my time over there. I want to be an au pair because I can deal with kids and I like it a lot. It was my biggest dream since I was a little girl to spend one year in a typical American family. Furthermore this year could be a big opportunity for me because besides taking care of children I could improve my English-skills, meeting new friends and seeing other culture than the Nepalese. I think this year could be the best year of my life and will be very important for my future. My zests are listening music, cooking, dancing, helping poor people and play with kids and conversation with kids as well. Talking about my health I have sound health. I have never gone through any type of serious problem. I am very friendly and can make everyone comfort with me. I know English language that makes easy for me to care American child and to communicate with babies and my host family. I love children very much and like to enjoy my time with kids. I believe children are the sweetest gift of god. If you give me an opportunity to look after your child I will be grateful to you. I assure you that I'd worked so as to make you fully satisfy with my work. I am confident that your beloved baby will be happy with me and I can be a good au pair for your kids and a good extended family member to you.
I am enthusiastically waiting to hear a positive response from you soon.
Yours Sincerely,
Sabita Sharma

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
My name is Karol, I am 24 years old, I am studying at the University the Tourism and Hotel Management. I am from Arequipa-Peru. I am writing to you so that you can get to know me and you will be sure that you can trust of me the caring of your children. I lived in San Juan, it is a small valley, It is 4 hours from Arequipa. We lived there because my daddy worked in a Mining Company, my mom always devoted to the care of me and my two brothers: Carlos is the oldest, next comes Arturo and I am the youngest. We studied there from kindergarten until high school. In this place I had a happy childhood and I met good friends who are still my friends. When I finished school we moved to Arequipa so I have lived here since 2002. One year I studied in an Academy to apply for University and I came into Tourism and Hotel Management. Now, I live with my parents, my brother Arturo and my cousin Isaul who has lived with us a lot of years. My oldest brother Carlos got married to Susy two years ago and 6 months ago. They live in Chile because Carlos works there. They have a child “Valentino”. He is one year and 6 months. Whom I love because I took care of him since he was born until he was 19 months. During my years in the University, I have heard about the Au Pair Program by some close friends who traveled with this program, but my decision to register like an Au Pair was made this year because I am on the fifth year and I want to left the last semester until I come back to Peru. Then It will be easier to finish my career and I can register into another program to travel to another foreign country but to work on my professional career. I mainly decided for this program because for me, It has different advantages: I have the opportunity to know a foreign country, have good experiences there, improve my English level, study something related to my career and work taking care of children that is something I have always wanted to do. I have worked caring children for two families here in my country, another experience that I had was this year in an Orphanage near to my home where I came in like a volunteer for 4 months. I used to go there on weekends. Those days were very beautiful because I shared funny moments with them, I could learn more about children and their life. They were affectionate and I felt very happy. Now I can say It was the best experience in my life. I had the leave the Orphanage because I started to work in a Travel Agency and that is a good opportunity for my career. In some vacations I was away from home because I traveled to Camano Beach for 3 months, for me this is a good place to relax. Sometimes I used to read a book, go swimming, play volleyball and meet my friends. I am thinking to travel to United States to work as an Au Pair since January because I want to be with my family in these important days as Christmas and New Year. My family is very important for me and I don’t want to feel sad away from my home during this dates. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Karol De La Cruz

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
It is my great honor to say hello and introduce myself to you here. I am an active, cheerful, optimistic, considerate and responsible girl. My great hobbies are playing the piano, reading and travelling. In my spare time, I prefer to learn piano to pass the time. And from last April, I became quite interested in cooking. So I enrolled in a cooking training school to learn to cook various delicious foods. There are three members in my family, including my father, my mother and me. My parents have their own work and busy with it. My father is a doctor in my hometown in Yizhou city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. My mother is business woman. As the only children in my family, my parents love me so much. They concerned much about my growth in life, letting me grown up in a loving but not doting environment, which correspondingly teaching me how to show my love to the people around me. I was an English major graduate from the Guangxi Nationalities University in 2005. After my graduation, I have worked as an Marketing Assistant and a Sales Representatives in TCL company and Philips ( China) investment Co., LTD respectively. Both of these work experience have trained me how to deal well with others in every fields and how to forgive others. More importantly is that I gained an optimistic attitude toward the pressure and difficulties in life through these works. I like children very much because I found playing with them is a very comfortable thing. The children’s world is not so complicated as the adults. Together with the children, I feel rather relaxed and life becomes so simple. So in the past period of time, I choose to help my friends to take care of their children whenever I have time. I have ever taken care of a three and a half years old boy and a 13 months old boy. To teaching them, to play with them, to feed them and to pick them up from the kindergarten. And I learned that as long as I show my caring and love them and can make them feel happy, they will willing to stay and play with me. Actually, looking after and teaching children is another pair of shoes. For the older boy, I not only play with him, but also teach him something. For example, I taught him to do some housework within his power, such as sweeping the floor, putting away the chairs and cleaning the desk after dinner together with me, and taught him to play the piano and recognize Chinese characters and English letters. Without doubt, sometime the children are naughty. At this moment, I will patiently to smile to them and try to make them feel happy. The children are very good at learning something new from others. Them will see every movement and every action of the adult’s in their eyes. So if I would like the children to cultivate a good habit, I must first do the thing in a good manner as their sample. I was a English major student when I was in University. At that time, I had learned many about the advantages of American Education. So I dream of getting a USA master degree. But my English is not so proficient to get het enrollment of the top 50 universities in American. What’s more, there are more than 3000 universities in America, too huge for me to choose. So I will like to make full use of the time to learn more about this during the time that I work as An Pair in the USA. That’s would be a good way for me to improve my English in a pure English circumstance and satisfy my great interest in children and learn more about the American culture of raising children. But I think if I can be an Au Pair, the most significant is that I can spread our Chinese culture to the American so as to promote the mutual understanding of these two culture. Being an Au Pair also can cultivate my self-confident and other fine characters, all of these are a good foundation for me in my future career. So with no hesitation, I start to apply for the program. And now I am quite ready for it. dear host family, I hope you like my introduction in the above. And I look forward to getting your interview calling so as we can know more about each other.
Best wishes to you and your family,
Sincerely,
Huang Xi

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
I’d heartily love to introduce myself to you in my way. I’m a twenty-five year old girl who loves to live in justice, egality, liberty, joy and love. Once upon a time I was adopted by the “Happiness” so that I’ve been keeping on smiling ever since that jolly day. When I completed my 4 years study in Kutahya and immediately after moved back to my hometown Istanbul, I faced with the cruel economic crisis which still affects the whole world. Although this disappointing situation I kept on expecting it would end up in two years. At last, it was exactly like what I hoped. I’ve never been hopeless and found my own path in life. Due to my way I decided to do what I like the most. I always loved to take care with children, sharing most of my time with them, playing games, singing songs and reflecting life’s whites and blacks to them as a shiny mirror. In 2009, I looked after two little children who are really amazing. They were so sweet, energetic and friendly. We especially used to play games, watch cartoon, have great times together. I used to feel that I wasn’t only a babysitter but also a friend of them who could speak their language and understand whatever they used to try to say. We were truly so happy together further to this lovely experience, I’ve written my fairy tale and made my mind clear to be a perfect Au-Pair in the US. I’m an outgoing, funny, friendly, optimistic, cheerful and sophisticated girl. I love having time with children, joining social activities with them, enjoying life by meeting friends, visiting the museums, exhibitions, watching movies, going to theatre, film festivals, concerts, having time at home with my family, helping to my mum’s houseworks, cooking some delicious meals, painting and singing songs which are pleasant to me, writing-reading poems and telling stories to the children around me. After the university, I’ve dealt plenty of part time works which were mostly including international congress and fairs. I’ve taken part in these organisations as an interpreter, supervisor, info-accommodation-registration desk staff. These kind of international works contributed to the gates of my personality to open over the globe, for example: I met thousands of foreigner participants at eh “World Water Forum 5 th” which was held in March 2009 in Istanbul. It was a great cultural experience and business for me. I never discriminate people according to where they’re from, what colour their skins are, which religion they believe in, what language they speak to. I just believe one united world under God. This holy idea makes me a real “Global Citizen” and that’s the second reason for me to take part in this such a meaningful exchange programme. The first reason is about how much I love children and what a huge place they have in my heart. Actually that’s not all I can tell about myself. But you should know about me that I’m a trustworthy, honest, open minded and sensible person. I strongly wish to meet you soon and get to know your beloved children. I’d also love to bring you my country’s cuisine, history, culture and people’s warm-smiling faces like a dazzling sun that goes up from a distance. In conclusion, my dear family is very supportive for my brave decision and they indeed want me to find my own path in this beautiful life. I’m also faithful to them and going to be so, but you’ll be my second family miles away. So that we all trust and believe in you sincerely, as well.
I wish you to make an appropriate choise, as me. Then, let the sunshine in my second precious family.
Pinar

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
My name is Anette and I’m 19 years old. My family is originated from Poland. My mum an my dad came to Germany about 19 years ago. Since then, we’re living in Bremen. Unfortunately, I lost my dad when I was 5 years old. Whenever I have holidays, I always try to visit my grandparents in Poland. I also have a young brother who will be 18 years old in may. We like each other that much, but we have some differences from time to time, but at the end of the day, we are always there for each other. We are living in a very big and nice apartment. Everyone of us have his or her own room. Every Sunday morning, we try to have a family breakfast, but sometimes it’s a bit difficult because my mum works in a hotel and I have a part-time job as a waitress in a football club center. So I can earn my own money for buying clothes, presents for family and friends or going to cinema etc. I am a very helpful person and always be there for my family and friends. I’m also a funny person who can even laugh about her own mistakes. I’m very interested in other countries and traditions. In my leisure time, I like meeting my friends and if the weather is nice, we go out for swimming or jogging. Furthermore I like to drive my care that I passed in January 2009. I drive daily to my work and make a lot of new experience because the weather in Germany is not only sunny but also rainy or foggy. I have a little cousin who is about 2 years old. I like taking him out for a walk of going with him to a playing field. As I was 12 years old, I have my first experience with kids. I used to take care of the kids of a good friend of my family. Since then, I still have contact with the kids regulary. The younger girl’s name is Louisa and she is just 7 years old and she will be in class 3 in summer. The boy’s name is Luca and he’s in class 7. In April he will be 13 years old. My duties with the kids those days were to change diapers for Louisa and preparing food for her and her brother. Before taking them to bed, I prepared a bath for them, then we played a small game and at last I read a good night story for them that I like so much. But nowadays I go with Louisa or Luca to the pitch or we drive to the cinema. As I was 14 years old, I have my second experience with kids. The girl “Aisha” was 3 years old and the boy “Malik” was 6 months old. My duties with the kids those days were to change diapers or preparing food and going out for a walk or playingfield and at the end of the day to shower them. But today Aisha is 7 years old and Malik like to going out to the playingfield. I still have contact with the kids and the partents regularly. I also still take care of a 3-years-old girl called Nele. I go out with her or I read books because she loves books so much, furthermore I change diapers and preparing food too. Because of my part-time job, I unfortunately can’t alway take care of the kids. Nevertheless, I try every Saturday to be at my little cousins. The younger one is just 12 months old. I was honored to be his godmother. The older boy is almost 2 years old. I take them out most of the time for a walk, that my aunt can enjoy some free time. When we come back home, I change diapers for them and prepare some milk or tea for the older boy “Fabio”. Then I bring Mike, my godchild, to bed and later I play with Fabio his favorite game “hide and seek”. When I realize that Fabio is tired, I take him for a bath until he sleeps. I always like spending time with kids, especially going out with them when there is a nice weather outside. It is always a kid of relaxing for me about the whole stress that I’m having at my part-time job. By taking care of the kids I have also learned to be patient. I choose America for my year of Aupair, because I’m very interested in the country and I loves children so much. I also like the English language, though I am not yet so perfect speaking English. Still, I try to learn as much as I can, and I can learn quicker when I’m allowed to stay in the USA. I absolutely hope form the year I’m abroad that I will be very connected with my host parents and the kids, also to learn a lot about the American culture and hopefully to celebrate Halloween that I like so much.
Sincerely yours,
Anette

Dear Host Family,

I am graduated in a bachelor degree of Humanities, majored in English from Ramkhamhaeng University, Bangkok, Thailand since November 2007. For my free time, I like to listen to the music, read books, surf on internet, cook and sometimes watch movies. My favorite sports are badminton, aerobic dance and jogging. My father likes to play soccer and always asks us to doing sports. I love cooking and helping my parents in the kitchen many times and I hope I would have a chance to show your family Thai cooking and hope your family would love to try my Thai food sometimes and fall in love with it someday. About my child care experience, I have been taking care of my nephew since he was born because and his parents are not able to take care of him. I helped my mother to baby-sit him since he was an infant and I always help my mother on changing his diapers, potty training, feeding and keeping eyes on him closely while my mother was doing other things in the house. Until now I am still taking care of him such as taking him to school and picking him up from school, prepare food and school material or even teaching him homework. Besides taking care of my nephew, sometimes I put up a play group for my nephew with his friends around our neighbors. Also I have trained for a child care certification by “ Bannonfai School” from Chaturat, Chaiyaphoom Province as an assistant teacher for 200 hours. The student’s ages are 2-5 years old. I like to go there because I can take this chance to stay with them and one of my good friends as an au pair applicant is trained by this school as well. My daily job responsibilities are reading for them, singing and dancing with them. I took them to the canteen for lunch, assisted them for toilet and arranged them for resting time. Before they headed to bed I told them bed time stories for them and they were very happy. As an Au Pair with my child care experiences, I wish to use all my child care skills I have for taking the best care of you children. I think you so much for the opportunity of the Au pair Program that I can share my culture to people in the other side of the world and learn new culture from the host family and other new experience that is going to improve my life for the future.
Best Regards,
Apirada Nguamun

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
First of all, I will introduce myself: my name is Maria Martinez and I am a 23 years old girl. I have just graduated from college, my career is Communications Sciences and on the coming year 2010 I’d love to have the chance of traveling to the United States and to be part of this program. I live in a traditional Mexican family. I have lived all my entire life in Ensenada with my parents and my sisters. I am the youngest of 4 sisters, Edna of 36 years old, Maribel have 29 years old, Marysol 27 years old. I also have some nephews: Yunuen of 7 years old, Sven of 11 years. And finally my parents: Jorge and Hayde. My parents have always liked music and we all share the same taste about music. We are a very big family: from both sides my dad’s and mom’s. Great part of the family lives here in Ensenada, others in Mexicali and the rest in Sonora. I inform you that all my family supports my decision of being an Au-Pair. I have always liked children, and since I was very young I liked to spend time with them, taking care of them. I have noticed that I can learn many things from them by just dedicating part of my time and patience with them. I think that childhood is a unique stage during which you can teach children things that will contribute to bring them up as good persons and good citizens. Given that they are the future of this world, I want to do something for a better future and how else but educating future generations. When I am with children I can be funny and loving, this way I can educate them in a good way helping them to become good people. Parents whose children I have taken care of seem to be grateful and fully recommend me. I am a very patient person and I consider myself to have that “touch” that is required to care children appropriately. I really want you to give this opportunity to take care of your children, I can learn anything easily. I don’t get angry with people neither with children. About me I can say that my hobbies are reading, walking, going to the movies, going to the parks, playing board games, photograph, doing sports, talking care of nature, animals and I like to coexist a lot with nature, I think that coexisting with nature is very vital for everyone, especially for children, so that they can learn to value nature and take care of it. I will put every effort possible to give the best results. Right now I have a job at a union labor office, I have been working for several months and I have had a good experience with this. I also want to improve in my career area by achieving a master degree, which I think to start when I get back from the program. By being accepted into the program I have the chance to improve my English performance and get prepared to take the TOEFL with the goal of enhancing my curriculum with the approval of this test.
Sincerely
Maria Martinez Garcia

Dear Host Family,
My name is “Haruethaichanok” currently, I’m 26 years old. I was born in Chiangmai. I am kind, patient, cheerful and friendly. I also have a lot of sense of humor. When I have free time, I like to exercising, reading, listening to the music, dancing and I love cooking very much. I often cooked for my sister and brothers. I finished a high school from “ Chiangmai Commercial College” (Computer Business) in 1999 and then I entered “ Fareastern University” (Computer Business Major). Studying in this field gave me opportunities to learn about software computer such as white web page, web side, Data base, Home page and etc. I was trained assistant of IT Supervisor in Channell 11 TV station. My duties were making an appointment, and scanning files. I was trainied there for 3 months. I had experience to be parttime as a waitress in the Pizza company for 3 months and I did a part-time job for 7-11 company for 9 months as a cashier as well. After I graduated worked for Centara Dungtanam hotel as F&B hostess for 2 years and then I moved to Le Meridien Hotel in Chiangmai as F&B hostess until present. It takes almost 2 years. I stared to drive since I was 24 years old when I worked in 4 th years. I drove to campus everyday and also went to study. I usually drive my sister to school and then pick them up in the evening. But if my parents use the in their work I ride a motorcycle instead. Since I started to drive a car, I have never had a car accident. My family is quite big; I live with my mother, my father, a big sister (Aor 32 years old), my one oldder brother (Yod, 29 years old) and my younger sister (Fram 24 years old); my grandmother. I’m so lucky that my parents have been raising me with love and understanding. They encourage me when I feel discouraged, and take car of me when I am sick or in pain. They are very good people to me. My father is a Front gardener. He’s a kind-hearted and funny family man. They like to sing karaoke. My mother is an excellent housewife and the best mom (I learned cooking from my mom, she liked to cook Thai food). She take care of a family very well. I grew up with a lot of love; my family relationship is so close and warm. I love my family very much. My childcare experience started at “ Hnong Hoy Childcare Center” as a childcare helper. My responsibilities were supporting and taking care of children who were about 2-6 years old. I must look after 14-16 children (per 1 classroom) at the same time. I helped them to activate their development. I usually prepared their milk and snacks; fed room, played with them, helped them to do their works, changed their clothes and nappies, took them to potty and took them to bed since toddlers to early elementary school. When children had problems I tried to help them to solve those problems. If it was very complicated, I would ask the teachers for advice. So caring for the children helped me to understand about children’s behaviors and needs. And I feel that love and endurance make a good relationship between adults and children. I decided to join this program because I would like to learn more about foreign culture and traditions, improve my English language skills, live aboard in a family environment, gain experience to further a future career and meet new people. And I feel that more experiences that I will gain from an au pair will be beneficial to my life and family.
Best regards,
Haruethaichanok

Some information about me: in childhood I went to a special ballet school and also I like to draw. My mother used to exhibit my paintings and we invited our friends and relatives to have a look at masterpieces. Nowadays I work as a manager in a private company and along with it I’m learning French language. I wanted to learn this language after visiting France. I began to study French at the Center for Culture of France named by Victor Gugo. Thanks to visiting this center I can easily write and speak French. My native language is Russian. Also I know Uzbek, English, French and a little bit Korean. I’ve been studying English begginning from the school years and have an intermediate level, but feel lack of speaking practice. For this reason I would like to go to USA to have more opportunity to speak and even think in English. Also I’m very interested in psychology. I future I want to become a psychologist for children. I’m interested in art and theater like to visit museums and different exhibitions. Besides it I like to dance and sometimes I attend the latin-american dance classes. My hobby is sport and several times a week I go to the fitness and play golf. Talking about my character. I’m an extrovert. I’m very communicative, kind, polite and smart lady. I’m very flexible, so I can easily adapt to many things. I’m strong-willed, hardworking and also patient while communicating with people. I like to spend time with children observing how they learn something and grow-up. I like everything to be clear and in an appropriate order. I’m cheerful and always want to share my good mood with other. Also I have an experience of communicating to kids. I worked in two different families where I looked after children. In the first family there are two wonderful boys. Elder, Mukhamad is 4 years old, and he is very active and energetic boy. With him we played different games, learned letters, learned to read and count. Mukhamad likes kids’ movies and cartoons. Also he likes to draw and to sing. Another one, youngest, David, is only 6 months old. In spite of his age he is already trying to go on foot and eat using a spoon. While looking after David I learned to feed a baby, bathe him, use pampers and play with him. In the second family I’ve looked after pretty lady. She is 8. She is very smart girl. She likes to do gymnastic and does it perfectly. I helped her with homework and taught her French, took her to school and from school. We’re similar in some cases. She also likes theatre and art. During free time we visited museums and theatres in our city. I want to participate in this program very much because I am interested in foreign culture, language and communicating with children. I think it will be a very good experience for me!

Dear Host Family,
My name is Ana Rebaza, my nickname is Ani, and I am 23 years old. I love swimming. I am working at a language institute, teaching English. I have been working with children since I was 18. Although I am teaching adults during the week, I teach children every weekend at church. I really like taking care of them and playing with them, because they are lovely and funny. Since it is easy to impress children, I love teaching them. When I used to work in a kindergarten, children used to call me: “Miss Anita” (when children in my country love their teacher, they add “ita” to the teacher’s name). Everytime I used to come into the classroom, children used to run towards me, hug me and call me “Miss Anita.” I used to take a puppet called Susana. I love teaching with puppets, because children get impressed and astonished easily. I like telling them stories, because they really pay attention when I do that. It is easy to take children’s minds to another place when you tell them stories, since they are really creative, so they can imagine what you tell them. It would be a pleasure for me to take care of your children, to teach them Spanish, help them do their homework, tell them stories and play with them. I have two siblings, a brother and a sister. My brother’s name is Luis Alfonso and he’s 21 years old. My sister’s name is Angie and she’s 15 years old. I remember when I was 10 years old, I used to take care of my sister who was 2 years old. I used to sing her to sleep, to change her diapers and to feed her. Now she is 15 years old and we are good friends. She usually tells me her experiences as a teenager and I give her advice. Although I can’t see my family everyday, because I live far from home and work from Sunday to Friday, I visit them every Saturday and we usually go out. I have a good command of English. I have two international certifications. One of them is the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) from the ETS (Educational Test Service), and the other one is the FCE (First Certificate in English) from the University of Cambridge. I have a national certification called ELT (English Language Teaching) from the Peruano-Britanico Cultural Asociation. At present I am thiking of continuing my studies at a University. I want to study Linguistics, since I love English and teaching it. This experience would be great for me, since I want to teach English to children. In conclusion I think I am an excellent person to take care of your children because I’m patient, cautious, honest, confident and well liked by my peers. It would be a pleasure for me to take care of them. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Ana

Letter to Host Family
Dear Host Family,
Hi, my name is Christian Martinez, I am 20 years old. First, I have to say that I would really like to be an Au-Pair. I like to take care of children and I have experience as well. For me this is a challenge that I am willing to achieve. I consider that this is an once-in-a-lifetime experience. I did my social service, for this is required in high-school, in Halil School 2 years ago. There I was assigned as assistant to the media-classroom; the managers liked my work so they offered me to work with them by the mornings. I immediately accepted, and since then I have been working in there. In Halil-school I enjoy spending time with children, teaching them interesting things, talking to them. Sometimes I am required to take care of them whenever a teacher is unavailable, thing that I really like to do. I have been dealing with children since several years ago: taking care of my cousins and my neighbor’s children. Now, I am thinking that before I attend College, I would really love to have an experience as an Au-Pair. This because I like children, because I am capable of do that and because this is an opportunity to know another culture and language. In every child I see the future of this world and I think that if we prepare them and educate them in a good way we will have a better tomorrow. Thus, I can tell you that you can trust me and I mean the best things for your family. Meeting new people in a new country with a different language will help me to grow as a person and I’ll be able to see things from a different point of view. I can easily adapt to a different environment where I can learn new things. I am a good guy and I only want to go ahead with my life taking the right choices. I am very fond of music, sports and I am a very hard-working person. I can only say that I will do everything on my power to be a great Au-Pair, if you accept me I will not disappoint you. I really hope to be part of your family.
Christian
